LUMIÈRE is the free-spirited embodiment of musical illumination with glam rock contours. Sparkling, spectacular, and sensitive all at once, the project defies trends and boldly challenges the rules of nostalgia.

But beyond the music itself, LUMIÈRE is also the character and solo project of Étienne Côté (Canailles, Bon Enfant). Donning the colorful, glittering attire of his alter ego, the singer and multi-instrumentalist passionately channels his love for the pop and rock of the 1960s and 1970s—two golden decades that helped shape the music of our time.

Released in 2021, the Montreal artist’s debut album, A.M.I.E.S.A.M.O.U.R, is a conceptual work at the crossroads of rock, folk chanson, and psychedelic pop. Critically acclaimed, the album led him to cross paths with Pierre Lapointe, for whom he opened several shows. That collaboration opened the door for LUMIÈRE to join French pop star Clara Luciani on her spectacular Zénith tour across France in the fall of 2022.

In 2023, the singer-songwriter unveiled his second album, the aptly titled GLAM. Pushing the musical fusion even further than his debut, the record presents a new LUMIÈRE: bolder, more flamboyant, more glamorous.
