ASWELL

A phenomenon of the streaming world, Aswell has already racked up over 25 million plays across his tracks—even before the release of his debut album Banlieue, set for spring 2024. Blending rap, emo rap, Québécois pop, and folk, the album stands out with its melodic, catchy flows. Aswell delivers deeply personal lyrics with a raw authenticity that comes through in every song, whether expressed bluntly or through metaphor.

Described by the artist himself as a “reflection of the last 24 years of his life,” the album’s themes weave between failed love (tracks like Make It Alright, Next, Misère, Flashback) and nostalgia (Loyseau, J’passe mon temps, Où je m’en vais). An instant hit on digital platforms, there’s no doubt this album will mark a major chapter in his life.

Entirely produced, mixed, and mastered by Aswell himself, his first EP, Solo, was released in 2021. Inspired by artists like Juice WRLD, The Kid Laroi, and Lomepal, he places the project somewhere between pop rap and emo rap, emphasizing melodies and sung flows to appeal to a wide audience. With an introspective narrative centered around heartbreak, regret, and existential emptiness, Solo was a strong debut—earning Aswell a mention by SOCAN as one of the top five rappers to watch in 2021.

A sold-out tour followed, along with standout performances in front of thousands at festivals across the province (Francos de Montréal, Festivoix de Trois-Rivières, Le Festif! in Baie-Saint-Paul...). It gave audiences a chance to discover a one-of-a-kind performer—bursting with energy and capable of setting crowds on fire.
